Will God Help Me To Find A Job?

I know that with so much eveil going on in the world today, and with so many people in need, I wonder if God has a place in Himself to help people who are in desperate need of jobs
I pray for God's help, and have done so for the past couple of years that I have been unemployed. I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT IS HIS WILL, AND NOT MINE BE DONE.
I say to Him that I need to be doing something constructive in my community, that I can't be serving Him by sitting home alone, and that if I can earn enough money to support myself, I will be happy. If there is extra money, I would like to contibute to His good works in the world..
I pray for His help and guidance every day - but I feel that he doesn't respond to people who are in desperate need of a job.
I pray for all of you here, who like me, are in desperate need of work, and believe that He will answer all of our prayers working together.

I'm with you on that one. I wonder if I have done my part to find a job. The problem is that I hurt my wrist and unable to lift heavy objects. I look with no luck. I wonder if the last job is talking bad about me which prevents me from getting another job.

I try to understand why God has given me a glass full of bitterness. In contrast, HE allows my enemies to drink a keg of prosperity. Don’t get me wrong, I try to thank God for the blessings that he does give me everyday. However, I think maybe God does like certain story from the Bible. I feel that HE might cause them to replay over again because they bring him joy. However, it is not fun when if you’re the main actor in one of those dramas. All things said, it really stinks if you’re the older brother of the prodigal son.

I have been crying out to GOD for almost 4 years for help with a job and still nothing. Trust me, GOD will not help you. Many churches preach this BS to make us feel better. If you cry out to HIM, tough. HE will not help you.

Hi Dmitri, I'm sorry that you've had this experience and I feel your pain. I've been unemployed also, so I know how it feels. However, you know God helps those who help themselves. What I mean by that is that we have to work in cooperation with God and take steps of faith and take advantage of the time we have on our hands. For example, do voluntary work helping the homeless, or a children's orphanage. Do an education or skills based course to develop your knowledge & skills. Filling your spare time with positive activities like this gets your mind onto positive things, provides opportunities for you to meet with others & develop a network which can sometimes lead to employment not to mention provide you with new friends & supports. I once did a job I didn't like for 3 years working in a mental hospital in people's personal care. During that time, I went to evening school & gained some more qualifications which opened doors for me & got me into a better job. My employer was impressed that I had done a job helping vulnerable people even though I didn't like it. Faith is a muscle you need to exercise & reach out into the dark. When we start reaching out to others, even when we feel depressed, God can start working in our lives & meet our needs. But when we're negative, critical & pessimistic, his hands are tied. God will help you if you are prepared to reach out & help others, be patient & don't allow negative thinking & bitterness to creep into your mind & heart. Negativity & bitterness will destroy faith & rob you of the peace God offers us.

Thanx Dear

You are not alone and the answer is YES, God will help you find a job. I was unemployed for 8 months and I just got a job last month. Like you, I have been praying to God to lead me in the direction he wants me to go. I have become closer with the Lord over the last few years and I have learned that it is not our will but His will to direct our paths in life (once we accept him into our hearts). The Lord has led me into a career that I love doing which is working with children. I truly believe He has designed the position just for me. God is amazing and He will answer all prayers if we are in a right relationship with Him. Never give up and be patient, it is a reward like no other.

I'm praying for u hope god gives u ur needs.god bless u

I've prayed, but I haven't tried looking as hard as I should.
I always wonder if I would feel more of a push when I'm headed in the right direction.
Knowing your good intentions, I can only imagine you'll be working again.
Kudos & Prayers.

I am praying for you and will keep praying for those unemployed that really deserve a job.

I have been in the same boat as you, and I know that jobs are hard to find. One problem I had is that I have to do my part. If you are hungry, and pray for food, he isn't going to push a hotdog through the key hole. We need to get out there and do our part, and I am sure that you are, just remember he always gives us what we need, but not always what we want.

Dear friend, when i talk to alot of people they take me to be harsh or not understanding but the Lord knows the intent of heart, and that i Love people. what i am about to tell you i pray you will use Godly understanding and the Lord direct you in all his ways and understanding. some times even though we know the word of God and do Believe in his great power, we can some time not Believe in our hearts for something, for God is faithful and can not denie him self, if he has said to us that when we stand praying to Believe that whatsoever we ask in Jesus name shall be done for us, then our problem is not that God is to busy or does not answer the smallest prayer, its that we are confessing that we believe but in fact our belief is just not coming from our hearts.....for it IS impossible for God to lie. so with all hope and Love toward you i pray you will just Believe that what so ever you ask in Jesus name SHALL be done by our father which is in Heaven Sincerely G.H.Hunter

I have prayed for you.

No. You will get a job only if there is a vacancy for your skills and you have the good fortune to be in the right place at the right time and be able to persuade an employer to take a punt on you. Alternatively you could start your own business or figure out how to accept retirement. God will only have anything to do with the eventual outcome if that's what you believe

How's progress?
Spoken to Redeemer Uni yet?

A very nice and touching post and I hope with all my heart that you can find a job because you deserve it - I admire your belief and trust in God and assure you, you are on the right track, but you also need to give so much efforts to find a job... Prayers and efforts will definitely put you where you wanna be, I'm 100% sure of that... I have my personal experiences that make me say these words ... I also admire your good intention and wanting to spend your money in the good, with such intention God will definitely respond to you...

You shouldn't have said "I wonder if God has a place in Himself to help people who are in desperate need of jobs" >> That's why God is not responding, your prayers are not honest enough and I'm sorry to say that, but you need to stop wondering when you are praying and have full faith that God has a place fore everyone and for everything, only then God can help you, but he can't help someone who is in doubt about him.
This is dedicated to you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaO73cx4pn4
All the luck even though you don't need it!

When I pray, I ask for guidance, inspiration. I ask for assitance to help find a way to accomplish what i need to do,and to give me the courage to do what i need to do. Sometimes, the answers are there, and we miss them, or would prefer a different response....So, all i can say..is pray anyway..but.... also do the work to help yourself as much as you can...And get out and meet people....Network as much as you can. you didn't mention the type of work you do, but it helps to let as many people as possible know the type of work you do, and what you can do.

LMFAO... God wont do **** for you drone but I really hope you get that job, hopefully it will keep you off ep so we dont have to listen to you whinging and whining about poor questions and such.. If you dont like it here then **** off cos you sure as hell aren't welcome... oh and if your going to pull someone up on spelling maybe you should spell check your own ramblings.

The Bible balancews God's promises & our responsibilities

Proverbs etc encourage determined hard work

& taking time to plan action, not just pray & do nothing

What are your qualifications?

What work wexperience?

What kind of jobs do ya want?

Do ya have the skills, energy & determinatiion to start & run ya own business?

I would like to think he might help you and others finding a job. I find it difficult to believe it might be a priority though - If you or I were a Jew in one of the concentration camps during WW2 we would probably be asking for a little more by way of prayer. For some reason, quite a few of those prayers were not answered favourably.

The way I see it you have to be a realist in some respects...
There are millions of people in the world that live and die praying for opportunities you take for granted.. like clean water and for the lack of a gun pointing in their face etc...
So I would say the best way to get a job would be to start helping yourself in anyway possible and see if "HE" is more willing to meet you half way :)

Practice what you claim to believe, perhaps. Love thy neighbor, etc., as oppose to ineffective and impotent words towards strangers. Your is another great example of how religious people are toxic, if you go along with them.

Lord Jesus,
I pray that Your will be done in this man's life.
In Jesus' glorious name I pray,
Amen

This is petitionary prayer. In indicates a lack of faith, that one needs to direct an outcome. What about "when you pray, go into your inner closet". Too many don't know the faith they claim as their own. It indicates indoctrination. The way to pray is to be with the Great What Is in a state of love. It knows how the world is supposed to be. It doesn't need beggars. It needs faith, and faith doesn't require begging.

i will pray to my God however my heart feels. God knows my heart.

I feel and am sorry for your plight. it will help if you draw closer to God and be sincere in presenting your petitions....it should be with sincerity and faith.
Don't go to him because you want to ask for something. Most people make the mistake of going to Him for that reason and when they don't get the answer they want they believe ...it's all a sham. Be consistent in your prayers , keep looking up , the darker it is , the brighter the stars....so be encouraged. God bless.

praying for you

I'll be praying for you.

I'm praying. Trust the Lord with all your heart and not in your own intelligence. I have a bible verse for you Proverbs 3:5-6 ;)
Also Psalms 37:4
