Barukh atah Adonai Eloheinu Melekh ha-olam asher kid'shanu b'mitzvotav v'tzivanu l'hadklik ner shel Shabbat.

As I grew up this prayer offered Friday evening to mark the beginning of the Shabbat, and the rest day for the week, blessing GOD for the miracles he has bestowed upon us (many often never apparent to us, but given anyway) was the most special prayer to me. It is still, despite my at times not going home to be with my parents for the Shabbat, and my not-so-exact observance, like today!

So many people offer prayers out of want forgetting that there may be others in more want than them, and that the best prayer is one of praising and thankfulness to GOD. In time all things will be right for each individual, even those murdered! This must be a fundamental aspect of everyone's faithfulness and relationship with The Lord of Light.
