We've All Got Bottomless Holes In Our Hearts And Only Something Endless Can Fill It.

I think that we're all secretly looking for our own personal Jesus, someone to hear our prayers, someone who cares.

Not many people have the courage to admit it, not many even know it. I don't think many people have even experienced unconditional love to know what it is to be looking for it. I know my mother loves me this way, that's how i know it.

I think all of us are born with bottomless holes in our hearts. Most try to fill it with property, or drugs, or alcohol, or meaningless sex but we always find it's a poor substitute for the real thing. it's like a band aid for a wound that needs stitches. We all need it; some have never felt it to know it.

so we walk about life with something missing, most can never put their finger on what it is. I can.

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you I'll be waiting
Time after time
If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you I'll be waiting

Something's wrong with the standard definition of love. Those of us who know what is: we've got to fix it... Because the only kind of love there really is is unconditional, everything else is fake.

Until someone's happiness means more to you than your own you can't say you really love them.

love this analogy !

my mother loves me like this, it doesn't matter what i do, nothing could cost me her love. I think it's perfectly possible.

Yes this describes a mothers love to the tee!

My observation is that nobody is truly capable of this. it is only something you can imagine or establish in theory.

Very insightful. I agree with all that you've said and I like your choice of lyrics. I'm one of the fortunate ones who receives unconditional love and I love unconditionally. You're right, "unconditional" is really the true definition of love and the only way we should love one another.
