I Believe Unconditional Love Will Change the WorldAllow me to define what I mean when I use the term "unconditional love". What it isn't is something we have for a particular thing or person. By definition, that love is conditional, the condition being that they are who they are, and not someone else. The unconditional love I'm referring to is a love of all things. It means accepting that the universe and all it's people are perfect just the way they are even with the so-called flaws they wear. It means turning the other cheek, going the extra mile, and loving your enemy.
Here's the thing about love, you always get more love back than you give. The more you give, the more you get back, the more you have to give! There are no limits, love isn't a contract you sign with one person... I'm sure this idea has been drilled into the population by the thousands of years of religious oppression our world has been under, to keep people trodden underfoot by the clergy and the state. After all, how are you supposed to control the minds of a world of people, if they all love one another and stand as one? Best to keep them afraid of each other, and separate. Best to make them hate each other, killing one another for nothing; over map lines and religious books. Unconditional love! Hell no, it'd **** up the economy!
It pains me that in today's age of enlightenment, there are still so many self appointed guardians of the status quo, who want to attack anyone who thinks something different than what their preconceptions of love say. Any woman who loves more than one man is a *****. Any man who sleeps with more than one woman is a pig. And don't even think about loving someone that is the same gender as you! They really believe that their hatred handed down to them from God is righteous, as if love has a set of divine conditions to follow before it can be "true". Talk about playing God! I shed many tears for those people, because they live in hell and they don't even know it. They exist in the world alone, and with only a pittance of love, because they are only willing to GIVE a pittance of love, and so that is what they get in return.
The world is changing though, I can feel it! People are waking up every day! People are realizing how insane it is to hate another person because of the color of their skin, or the land that they were born in. People are crying out in agony at the horrendous things we are doing to one another, and screaming for it to stop! Refusing to kill their own people to protect the riches of the wealthy. Refusing to hate their brothers and sisters simply because those in power tell them to.
There was a man who walked the earth over 2000 years ago who was trying to tell us something important. He was trying to show us that there is only one way to stop the madness that has possessed us, and he laid down his life to prove it. Just love. Don't repay evil with evil. Love your enemy, and love your brothers and sisters. Love them the same as you love yourself. And above all, love yourself!
