They Did It To Me

I once heard my mother telling a neighbour that I was circumcised when I was ten days old and it was such a good thing. The neighbour had not had her con circumcised. In the Uk among the middle classes it became very fashionable in the 1920s and 3Os and no doubt had to be paid for. Since the development of the national Health Service if has decline rapidly partly because it still had to be paid for as it was regarded as unneccessary.
Ever since I discovered I had my foreskin stolen from me I have been angry about it .It is genital mutilation. It is illegal for girls and should be for boys as well

I do not think circumcision should be performed until the subject has reached the age of consent. If that were the standard, the practice would die a natural death. I am angry to this day at the theft of one of the most sensitive parts of my body, stolen from me when was a helpless infant. I made it clear to the hospital that this outrage was NOT to be perpetrated on my own infant son.

It's horrible. I *hate* this. It feels like I've been mutilated. Why the hell don't we just start docking infants' ears? That'll make them cuter.
