I do believe this. I've had failed relationships and I've learnt a great deal from them. I think you have to experience the bad to appreciate the good. You learn to choose your battles rather than wading in to a full scale War. You appreciate the small things and value them. You can understand other peoples pain because you have been there too and will always listen and help if you can because you know how it feels to be alone and hurting.

The more pain and bad you experience, the more you can appreciate and understand equal happiness. At least for me anyway. For without knowing sadness, how would you know what it is like to be happy?

That is very true. I think it helps us understand more and see what is important and what is not. You grow as a person through the life experiences you have. I try to tell myself that when I am feeling low and think that happiness will never come. Hope.. :)
