The Difference Between You And I

Everyone has different struggles that they face in this journey called Life. This was my most challenging.

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day everyone. I decided to do a post in honor of this great activist. A post of my own journey to believing in equality. Not just for separate races, but for human beings over all.

As I've said here a time or two, I was raised in a Christian home. I was raised to believe that homosexuality was a sin. I was raised to believe, based on the Bible, that interracial relationships were immoral. What I haven't told you, is that I went to a school that was completely white until I reached high school. And even then, there were only a couple of black students - not enough to call it a handful of the student body.

The stage seemed set for me to be utterly bigoted towards any person who wasn't straight and white.
