My Parents Couldn't Love

Now I see that due to the lack of genuine love from my parents, I have spent most of my life in pain, confusion, anger, doubt, FEAR, sorrow and a whole bunch of other negative attitudes, behaviors, beliefs, NEEDS, etc. in a weird effort to get the love I didn't get as child. And now I can see just how many others are in the same predicament due to insufficient love probably in early childhood. For a long time I believed society suffered from child abuse but now it's apparent that lack of love may be more damaging than abuse and neglect although I'd place inadequate love with the neglect category.
So if love is missing, how do we fix that? For me, it has to do with loving myself and others in some way that I will have to learn since I didn't get adequate training to love me or others. Fortunately, there are a lot of teachers and therapies available for me to learn how to give and get love even at my advanced age - 73. I have a loving and lovely marriage but still need to bone up on my loving skills (not just sex) and learn how to open my heart and let the natural love within me flow. It's been blocked and frozen since I was a little kid! Well, it's never too late so here I go...........to give and receive love.......WOW!
