I'm In A Movie... Why Not? You've Got To Love Life's Surprises...

I quit my gov't job a few months back. So, I've been working on my health and fitness, energy, life direction, etc. I booked a trip to visit friends overseas for a break and well, $, right? This guy who I date works on a couple TV shows. He asked me if I'd ever thought about being an extra. I could make some extra $. I told him, Great. I thought he'd set something up with one of the shows he works on. He's been ******* himself around for months... So he texts me an agent's #. Big help huh. So, as the independent, confident gal I am. I went online and found a movie, I applied and they called me back and booked me. I've never done anything like this! I told him and he went all, Who's your agent? Who booked you? Blah, blah. The few family and friends I've told have been really strange about it... It's like they don't believe me or maybe, they think I'm nuts. Last week I went and met really cool people, some not so much but it was completely different than gov't! We had some laughs and I was in scenes standing next to a really big star that I admire and respect on the set of a movie! Wow... It's too much, right. I got really nervous at one point with the camera in my face. Close-up, eek. But, they doubled my pay and want me to return tmrw, Why not, right???

Thank you so much for your comment. I must admit I feel like a fish out of water, a little embarrassed, it's completely different than gov't, I just have to keep thinking, Why not? It's a good opportunity, they seem like good people. You just never know... I think it's important to be open to new and different experiences. That's how you learn and grow, no? You have to take risks and seize new opportunities and live life by the seat of your pants, be brave. Maybe I'm crazy but isn't that what life is about???

I went to acting classes for a short time (6 months) in Tucson, Arizona, but nothing ever came of it. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Awesome!!! I've done lots of that kinda work while I was at university. Was always so much fun, the destinations we shot at. Good luck and enjoy it :)

Not crazy at all!!! Sounds like fun. Congrats!!!

Well it certainly sounds like you are out there making your own destiny.... beware of friends and family who may feel a bit threatened by this.... after all YOU are actually DOING what most of us just *talk about. Who was the movie star?
