Everyone Has Something to Teach Us ..

The following was sent to me at work and I think its just wonderful. It is written by BRIAN A CHALKER.

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON...It is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a Godsend and they are! They are there for the reason you need them to be.

The, without any wrongdoing on your part, or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. Sometimes they die. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. Your need has been answered, and now it is time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON...It is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being part of my life.

Your Response

Loved this! And especially needed to hear the part about relationships coming to an end. Thank you for sharing this, although I see it was some time ago ...

I stopped by to read this again. Thank you, Tas...for this post, and for your friendship.

I have been without internet for last 36 hrs or so .. I have been worried what I am missing . ..

I hope your Internet troubles are resolved. Missed you... oxo

Me too :)

It's beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

I agree you let certain people in to your life for a reason.

this is a word of wisdom, especially dealing with difficult people in life.

Thanks for the reminder, dear friend.

I do not think I can thank some people who came in my life, and their purpose or reason has affected me badly and always thought it would have been better if i never met them...
I know when i was born no one promised me that it there would be only nice and happy moments in my life, i wish life would have been simpler.

Are there also not some who have made your life brighter?

rarely yes.

Could it be that folks who make a negative impact on our lives have also been brought (or sent) in response to a need? Perhaps to learn patience or discernment or to face something within ourselves? In other words, is an experience only to be seen as good if it brings nothing we don\'t want to face?

I am not sure I understand...if the bad experiences out number the good ones wouldn\'t be too much for a person to bear?
If negative experiences are important - why would lil children need to face troublesome experiences and deal with them when they still have a long time to learn?

Yogis are among the mystics who are recognized as seeing such truths directly. They have said that nothing comes to us which we cannot bear. In fact, some folks who know the value of struggles can feel true gratitude when problems arise.

I\'m not sure about what you mean in your second question, but will answer what I believe it to mean, again from the wisdom given us by those same mystics. They speak, with one mind, about reincarnation and, reincarnation being real, we all have as long as necessary to learn. The question would become, in my mind, whether some lessons are given in childhood because, perhaps, we learn better at that time.

Yes !! I believe in this too!I was so enlightened by your story!Thank you!
So many people come through your life, some may good, some may bad,all kinds of people.Anyway there is a certain reason for all of them to come to your life.Be thankful for those ones who helped you when you were in any difficulties. And learn to be strong ,brave ,independent and wise from any bad experience which caused by the bad ones.
Life is a wonderful journey.
This post clearly distinguish the different peoples came in my life... Never thought this way n felt bad about who were gud but not with me now.... I think its time to move on.. Real gud post to share...

This has made me.feel good. Thanks. !

Oh now this is a really good post.
Thought provoking and puts things in a different light for me. :-)

Yes, when a friend sent it to me I really needed to read it :)

Now that is a good friend. :-)
Funny ... I needed to read it now as well. :-)

I like that

You are right.

Interesting.....I feel this too. Sometimes we don't realize it, sometimes fleeting and it's only later that you realize what it was. Someone touches you, or you touch someones heart unexpectedly and never realized the impact you had on them.....I cherish these moments in time however long they last, sometimes it's advice, or just being a friend, or a simple touch, or a life lesson you needed..........Embrace it and be grateful for it is a gift............

A very profound article. Being a spiritual person I believe in most of what U say, but it has been my experience that people that come into your life rarely say or do something to end the encounter, but just move on as we must move on. I will ever be indebted to their help.

Soooooo what is the reason for Honey Boo Boo?

I have just read this post, in 2013....I had just posted a question here on the Experience Project for the first time. As I was poking around, seeing what the site had to offer, I read this post. The last paragraph answered the first and only question I have ever posted. My response was profound. I will accept my lesson, and "love the person, and put what I have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life".

Oh, that sounds good :)

So very true!

So true, I feel the same way, couldn't have said it better though :-) Thanks for sharing this xxx

Thank you for a lovely, perceptive story, nothing is by chance, the older I get the more I believe this, and I also believe we do not meet just in one lifetime, this is why we feel we have kown some people for ever even if they soon leave our life and wenever stop missing them .Take care.

When God (Allah) lets you meet or connect with someone, God (Allah) may be making that person for you either a LESSON or a TEST, while you are also a lesson or test for that person whom God (Allah) willed that you two would meet.

God (Allah) knows best :)

Oh my thank you this was lovely. He really knows what he talking about. God bless you both. Peace and love

love love love this post, thank you for sharing :)

This is for all EP members, you have all touched my life one way or the other! Yes there's a reason why we met even through our readings and writings....Happy Thanksgiving to my extended family!

Thank You for the Post!!!!

This is so true.

I read this before but its nice to recollect the things again. Thanks for sharing...

Truly beautiful and very true x

beautiful post Tassie..thanks for sharing!

Life does teach us a lot of lesson that we, most of the time don't get to see with these "reasons" and during the "seasons" that we were with these God-sent people. It is then that I believe that indeed, No man is an island.
