Your avatar says it all, you pig. Your profile says even more. Bragging about raping a drunk girl, eh? Scum of the earth.

You raise a number of very good points, xxtman. As you say, it is about power and control, and it is indicative of this society that some cannot understand the trauma, mental and physical, that stay with the victim. It is sad indeed.

rape rarely if ever has anything to do with sex it is about power and control.the violence and often torture that usually goes along with rape is a cowardly act,on all levels.I am not too surprised at the answers given by the women or the men.these people are clueless and have no idea of the trauma rape victims suffer, not just the physical act, the long term mental damage caused by these savage rapists.Sad that our society has sunk so low.

    Sappy, yes very well said:)

Moston, thanks and I too think that there is this pathetic anti-pc backlash by people who want to cling onto their old prejudices, to continue to express their prejudices with impunity, and then blame those that they target with their bigotry.

Why do women judge other women so harshly? That statistic alone makes me incredibly sad.

Regarding women with rape fantasies ... what many people don't seem to understand is that these fantasies (at least the vast majority) really have nothing to do with "rape". The fantasy is simply about giving up control, not about being violated as a victim of a violent crime.

Many good points have been raised here. Thanks for posting this story Mizz.

    Polly, you're right.

There are so many double standards involved here. I would say that women have the absolute right to dress and be how they want without it being read that they are inviting rape in some way! Women are portrayed as sex objects and nothing more to these morons.

Polly, I would be delighted if what I've said has helped in any small way to dispel these myths. This is what's so good about these pages. As a group of people we can help to change society a little:)

    Thanks, Polly.

I agree with your point you expressed in another post about counselling, and that there are men out there that think the woman has actually enjoyed being the victim of a brutal nasty attack.

Polly, I agree with every word you say.

It's tragic that so many rapes go unreported, because the victims believe, with some justification, sadly that they will not be believed. Rape victims should NEVER blame themselves, They are the victims of a despicable show of macho power. Everyone has self control. These lowlifes have to be made to learn it.

Thank you for your kind comments, Eve.

I think the aggressive misogyny and sexism that prevails in society now does either sex any favours. It is horrible to me that women are perceived as just lumps of meat and the dangers that arise from this. As a man with a brain, I hate the thought that anyone would lump me in with these neanderthals. Until we rid society of this, many more women are going to suffer the same ordeal.

Yes, attitudes do need to change. It's awful to think that attitudes seem to have gone backwards over the last 10-15 years. I think the rise of lads mags and also the lurch to the right of society in general are factors. You are so righ, the mental scars can last a lifetime.
