A Smile Can Change Everything

I try to smile to people all the time. If you are smiling at them, they can't be mean to you.  In my job, I have contact with a lot of crabby people.  I find that if I am smiling when I talk to them, it calms them down, even over the phone.  I have a lot of good reactions when I smile.  I also smile at strangers and say hello or something else...I almost always get a smile or response back.

I have a persona I like to call "Nice ***** Riz".  One of the people I count on to help my clients doesn't do what they are supposed to do.  I put the smile on my face, turn on the sweet voice and tell them what they did wrong and why it is upsetting to me and my client.  Basically, I am telling them to **** off, but I am saying it so nicely, they don't know what hit them.  This usually has very positive results.

It is harder to bring "NBR" out in person, because my face is very expressive.  I have to really concentrate when I do that.

Sometimes my boss will come in and I can tell right away he is in a bad mood.  All I have to do is smile at him and do something goofy and his mood brightens.  It doesn't always become good, but at least I get him to where he isn't crabby at me.

Haha .. I like this story!

i'm the type who always smile no matter what. i smile even when i feel sad. i became somewhat used to smiling. so, whenever i made eye contacts with someone, automatically, i smiled at them. and i got very good responds. i don't know why, but i feel the need to smile all the time. (^-^)~

I smile at everyone always. Its warm and a nice gesture.

I try to smile at people myself..... most usually just look at me weird. Its not to be expected in today's world and a lot of people don't know how to respond to a genuine smile from a stranger.
