The Silence I Know Speaks Volumes

I was just seventeen or eighteen and one summer night my boyfriend came to pick me up and drove me to the lakeshore where we sat and watched the water. I wasn't sure why he brought me there without telling me, but it was truly beautiful. You could see the stars and at night the lights shine on the dark water. I sat there in awe and didn't communicate how lovely that I was sharing this with him. I sat in silence for five to ten minutes and then he motioned to leave.
