I Believe That Long Distance Relationships Can Work
All forms of love except that which transcends the physical nature and attributes , and that which is all pervasive, results in misery.
This idea is not as complex and profound as it may sound. Simplistically put, such love, whose object is physical form and physical attributes, prevails so long as the physical form and attributes are intact. Such love exists as long as one continues to admire and appreciate the physical nature of the object of love.
For example, you are in love with Water. Water will not remain water (in it's physical form) perpetually. It evaporates, precipitates and freezes . So, the object of your love is water in it's ( liquid) form, such love will become orphan once water evaporates or changes its nature. On the other hand, if you
are in love with the element of water ( in any form), your love too changes it's affiliation as the object of your love changes. That is to say, your love attains the ability to recognize water in any state or form of water.
You may fall in love with a collge football player or a lead singer of a band or a very handsome person. All these physical attributes will change at some point or the other by law of nature. Such love often metamorphs into misery should the object viz, the physical form cease to exist , lose it's attributes. You love a person dearly as long as the person is alive and has all attributes ( physical as well as behavioural and emotional) that made you fall in love. Once the person ceases to exist , love meta-morphs into tragedy and misery which we often mistake for 'undying love'. But there lies confusion. Such love is not so much love as it is sympathy and involuntary display (often for recognition of such display) of honesty and affiliation.
But love in it's purest form , without any object or affiliation is for eternity. Because, such love is not tugged to any object which is impermanent. And that form of love is what is called universal love also called compassion.
