I Believe the Ouija Board Is Not a Game
When I was a kid, I got a Ouija board for Christmas one year. My grandmother and I would play with it and I know that she would move the pointer to answer the silly "kid" questions I would ask. Even though I have always been interested in the paranormal, I had never really believed that the board had any power. Until one night...
When I was a senior in high school, I had my best friend over for a sleepover. We thought it would be fun to play with the Ouija board so we took it up to my room, lit a few candles to set the mood and sat down on the bed with it. After a few inane questions and answers (I'm sure one or the other of us was moving the pointer), we decided to try to summon a spirit. After a few moments of concentration and asking if anyone was there, suddenly the candles dimmed and a horrible smell filled the room. Scared, our eyes widened and both of us asked simultaneously "do you smell that?" Thinking maybe one of the candles had fallen over and caught something on fire, we jumped up, turned on the lights and tried to find the source of the smell. There was nothing. And as soon we let go of the board, everything stopped. By this point we were both terrified - the board went back into it's box and stayed there until it was finally given away with other toys my brother and I had outgrown.
I do not know exactly what happened that night 30+ years ago but I do know I don't want anything like that experience repeated so that's why I say - never again.
