I Believe We Create Our Own Reality
A lot of people would likely read the title of this group and assume it means to take action of your own life. To get out there and seize opportunities and make things happen according to this driven attitude. Of course, with this way of thinking, you could argue that it happens because you didn't stop trying until it was achieved.
For me, I think to create our own realities, it goes much deeper.
We are very powerful beings. A lot of people don't realize their own potential, nor how powerful the mind is. This universe is very interesting in the way it works, and this is no exception. Throughout the years, I've noticed changes in whatever I thought about. For example, when I wanted to lose weight back in high school, I carried the attitude that I already was. I had my mind set that I would become thin and that I was losing weight by the week. I wasn't really doing anything that different than my normal routine and I don't think I exercised or ate healthy nearly as much as I should have. But the weight came off anyway. I had lost 50lbs, and while 10% was physical, 90% was mental. Only in a much different manner. I believe that I willed myself to lose the weight and I still think I could do this if I got back into this mind frame once again.
Other times I would think of scenarios at certain dates. Like meeting up with someone special, and on those dates, it would happen. For example, I wanted to meet a certain guy. "The" guy. And no sooner had I asked the universe for him, I received. I met my twin flame and while getting to know him, I would think of the dates that I would like to hang out with him. For example, "The weekend of the 7th" ...and sure enough, when that time rolled around, we would make plans to hang out.
Of course, with every positive thing that comes with this, negative things can come from it too. When I started to lose my mind set about my weight, I started to gain. I didn't care about my weight anymore, and I thought of myself as fat. I got down about it, and sure enough, when I started to see myself like this, I gained the weight back. Almost instantly.
When my twin flame's contract for his job ran up, I got nervous that he would move away, sure enough he did. When I imagined him being with an old friend of his, sure enough they got into a relationship. Almost instantly.
I know that life has a funny way of working out, but I also can't help but feel I have part in the way it works. We all do, to a certain extent as I believe that the universe can direct us where to go when we need it. This is why I believe we should shed the negativity. Any negative thoughts or feelings is something we need to fix within ourselves. Not only to become better people, but to also influence our surroundings. They say that life is what you make it, and I believe that to the highest extent. We create our realities by how we feel, and how we think. So why do we keep making things harder on ourselves when the solution is so simple? Being happy shouldn't be so hard to achieve, and I think that part of the problem is how we weigh ourselves down with such burdens that we don't need.
When we have negative thoughts and feelings, it usually comes from fear, or perhaps dwelling on something. Whatever it is, I find it helps to ask yourself, "why?".
Ask "why" until you get to the seed of the problem. Be honest with yourself, and don't be afraid of the answers. Often when we have an issue, we'll say, "Oh, I just don't know!" Really, what we're doing, is avoiding the truth. We're avoiding the answers to these problems because we just don't want to admit how we really feel. In turn, it creates a vicious cycle that we can't learn from.
What kind of life is that? One that you want to live? I certainly don't.
I'm just as guilty as creating issues that aren't needed, and I'm guilty of having an imagination that doesn't always have the most positive thoughts. But I'm hoping to get rid of that because I know I deserve the life that I want. And really, that's what it comes down to. We deserve more than we give ourselves. We just need to start believing that we are worthy and deserving of better things.
What kind of reality do you want to create?
