Life Is a Self-fulfilling Prophecy

I truly believe life is a self-fulfilling prophecy. I don't think that we necessarily all get what we deserve, but we do create the way we see the world and therefore the way we act in it. And the way we act has a counter to it which is the way others act towards us. All coming from our own perception of ourselves, others, the way the world works, etc. Our worldview is determined by the way we are raised, how we are treated, how and what we are taught about treating others, and by our own experiences which are unique. Some people have been conditioned to have a rather unrealistic view of the world and the people in it. I definitely count myself as one of these people. We all are "one of these people" since no one can view things "perfectly" whatever that means. I sure would like to be creating a happier reality for myself. I'm just not quite sure how to put that into action though. I have many ideas but I'm not doing enough to put all these ideas into action in my life.

Interesting

haha, I was just re-reading what I wrote here and I was questioning whether it was really true. I think it certainly has truth to it.

very true.

well it does reflect back to perception is reality but goes beyond that into you actually making your life become whatever it is....whether you mean to or not you create the same conditions over and over with your thoughts, whether you are aware of the thoughts or not dictates how in control you are of your own destiny.

Ah, philosophically trained minds.. Excellent.
It goes straight back to the ole "Perception is reality" deal. Existentialism at it's finest.

Yeah I've gotten those same comments along the lines of the quiet ones being dangerous, watch out for him. I think that's one of the reasons some people keep a distance from me. I'm going to make it my new mission to 'shock' people a little bit and start talking more.

Oh wow, you are an enlightened person no matter what your age. I think you are so right that I need to step out of my comfort zone. I've been doing that a little bit recently but being so analytical I have a hard time doing that all the time. Part of the problem is that people know me as being reserved and quiet and they would be quite shocked to see me behaving so differently. I guess I really shouldn't care what they think. That would be another way to step out of my comfort zone. To stop caring so much what people that know me already think about me or how my behavior has changed.
In another vein though, I do like that I am careful with my words. I think far too many people just blab about whatever is going on in their minds and they end up saying some pretty rude and inconsiderate things in the process. I'd like to find a nice balance of not caring what others think of me but also being careful to consider how what I'm saying can affect others. There I go with my analysis again LOL. Thanks so much for your comments, you are AWESOME!!

That definitely makes sense. It's important to learn to love what you have but I think it's also important to make changes in our own lives when we would rather them be another way. Even just small changes. I think our subconscious really beats us up when we are not living up to our own ideals. I feel that life for me is the struggle to live up to my own expectations.

Hey thanks, you have great advice. I find that I know many of the changes that I want to make but change is one of the most difficult things and often comes slowly. I'm just trying to be diligent but patient.

Well you are off to a RUNNING start!!! You have a great concept, and gee it has to start somewhere right? after all change does not happen with out first realizing what change we need...as frustrating as it is, this does not happen over night, it is a constant learning process as to what works and what does not, and it is kinda different for everyone, but one of the first steps is getting comfortable in your skin, and facing fears, THEN you can go out into the world as the warrior you are, to fight off the bad and embrace the good. Is amazing the things that transpire at that point! *smiles* CindySue
