I am 71 and have just found out I was adopted. All my life people have asked where do you come from and I have always said Australia. But my complexion and dark eyes always said a different story.

My adopted parents have now passed away and only at this late stage have they left a note to say I was adopted and that my birth mother was Maori and now I have a long battle ahead to try and find any relations.

I have lovely children and my sons are dark , olive skinned, black hair and eyes and always wondered.

My grandchildren both girls and boys have asked the same question, Nan what is our ancestry.

Now I need to find my blood relatives. No-one should have to live and die not knowing who they were.
