My Own Inanity

I was watching a movie with some friends one time and I noticed some people's ashes weren't making it all the way into the ashtray. There were little bits of ash on the coffee table, and that just gets on my nerves. So I leaned forward, took a deep breath, and blew the entire ashtray right into my face!

For a moment I was the only one not laughing hysterically. I just sat there in shock thinking, "I'm such an idiot." But I couldn't help but laugh at myself as I cleaned up the mess.

I have moments like that all the time. I usually have something on my mind, so I don't always pay attention to what I'm doing. But I guess it keeps me smiling. Even if I am usually the one everyone's laughing at. :)

I feel sorry for people who are unable to laugh at themselves. How can you take yourself so seriously that you can find no humor in your own moments of stupidity? We all have them! How many people can honestly say they've never said or done something that made them think, "I'm such an idiot."

I wish everyone had their very own blooper reel. We'd all be a lot less arrogant!
