Three Meals Vs. Six Meals

In the past, the diet I've followed is the Body For Life diet/work out schedule.  In summary, it suggests eating three small meals, along with three snacks, plus ten glasses of water each day.  Basically, you end up getting nourishment ever few hours.

I've never been big on eating breakfast, though I do find drinking a smoothie in the morning kickstarts my metabolism, and definately helps to get me focused.  The Body For Life program also stresses lifting weights three days plus alternating aerobics three additional days each week.  When I follow that part of the schedule, it makes it much easier to eat more frequently.  It also helps to prevent me from over-eating.

As for eating three meals, or six small meals/snacks, it just isn't feasible for me to do so.  I find that when I eat breakfast - even a small meal - I'm rarely hungry for lunch.  Most days, I don't have the time or the desire to make the time.  If I was overweight, maybe eating in a more traditional, structured setting would be more important to me.
