The Internet Being Considered For The Nobel Peace Prize?

Has the world gone crazy(er)???? The internet is not a person, and it certainly isn't 100% peaceful. It can be very useful and used for good, but there is too much evil and immaturity to warrant such a consideration.

There was confirmed reports in Mexico recently. Apparently several Mexican gangs were using the Internet to kidnap and ransom kids. They would lure the kid, abduct them, then use the Internet to force the parents to wire money to them

Wow, this is what it said about the Nobel Peace Prize founder:<br />
According to Nobel's will, the Peace Prize shall be awarded to the PERSON who<br />
“ ...shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.[1]<br />
(<br />
<br />
Italian Wired suggests that the Internet should receive the highly regarded prize for helping to advance “dialogue, debate and consensus.”<br />
<br />
This seems ridiculous because they are crediting the bad and negative parts of the internet along with those good things they believe is worthy of recognition and credit. Why not find a person whom is admirable online and give them an award?

I half agree with you Kitty. Though I'm interested in the personification of any manmade creation, I do see your second point "to a point"
