My Counselor gives me homework, this week i had to make a list on my smart phone of all the positive things, and good qualities i have as an individual. I must read it everyday. that is my homework.

before marriage, I had a difficult breakup with a woman i lived with for 4 years. I focused on hobbies, family, health, friends, and career. It only took me about 3 months before the old me was back, I radiated happiness and inner peace. Started dating and then fell in love again.

Thank you for this post, I agree completely that when you take the time to love yourself, others will follow.

We all have accounts with persons we meet in this life....every single person is a teacher of its own kind and gives us a life long lessons. Some lessons are tough and some are easier. These lines are not philosphical infact these are facts. The moment that teacher completes that course syllabus .....they disappear from our lives(its metaphor). So feel good and hopeful that you gonna meet new and intersting teachers ahead which would make your life more worth knowing.Hope this would help you taking the life in real terms:)

Very powerful words most importantly truth. Easier said then done at times but everything only gets better through actions. This is a good place to come to and relate to others without smoke and mirrors. Self realization is the first step to improving yourself. Thanks for the inspiring words. Best of luck :)

Best of luck to you. Alot of people treat divorce as a race but its not. You need to take your time and when that final push happens you know its time to go and not put up with it anymore

I agree. I know a lot of people that stay in marriages for their kids, fear of failure, embarrassment. But, what they don't realize is the eyes never lie and what you feel on the inside reflects on the outside. When you put on a facade, eventually you will breakdown. That has a direct effect with people close to you. Better to get out of the relationship and be happy. For yourself and everyone close to you.

If its the best thing for you then at the end of the day no one will give you time back. So when people realise that life goes on then they realise its ok to be alive and be happier healthier

You make some really good points. Sometimes we do need others to help us sort through things or we may need to write to get whatever out of our system. Nonetheless, this site can be a bit addicting and before you know it, hours and days have gone by. It's like we all should have a time budget and manage our lives in a more balanced way. Thanks for your nice post. :)

Totally resonate with what you say...after 53 years of wondering what was wrong with me, I realized that I am a sponge to all the emotions around me...I found the Love I was searching for all my life and it was the love of ME...it's time for all of us to BE the change we want to see...the past is gone, no hate, no regrets, time to move on and live a life of our dreams...

Sometimes it's a choice to do whatever is possible to find the path to peace. But for some it's harder. No insurance. No good therapists. No car. Cant afford the high costs of medication. And when these people are fighting to claw their way out of the tunnel they are being left behind. EP helps these people. Some are lucky to find "friends" to comfort them. I have. And although I am one of the fortunate ones to have mental health care, I still find peace in reading stories I can relate to. Finding people who care. Finding a release in telling my stories. Sometimes. EP Is all people have. And sometimes it can change lives. It certainly kept me from drinking again and hurting myself in ways that I thought were impossible for me to commit. I'll stick with my reality. But I'm going to stick with EP too to continue to find the strength to stick with the right side of the fork. And I also hope that I give people out there the strength to go on.

This is so true dear. I feel the same way too. And only God knows how EP has helped me a lot. I found a lot of nice people here who can show genuine support and empathy for everyone. Good luck to us. :)
