The Longest I've Held A Job Is 14 Months

I haven't been able to keep a job since I began working at the age of 16. Sadly, most of these jobs I was fired from. Don't get me wrong, I am in full uniform, punctual, dutiful, and am personally vested in my work. I believe its when I am not I rack up points, and write-ups like they are collector's items. What's even worse I live in a tourist town soooo there isn't much opportunity to try new industries. I absolutely hate filling out applications, because re-tracing all the jobs I've had is simply annoying, and all I've done is customer serivce so I feel trapped. I was told by a therapist that its common for people who are children of alcoholic parents. By no means am I using that as a cop out, its just at this point I just want to fix whatever it is that's keeping me from functioning like a normal adult.

Try attending ALANON a12 step group, for children of alcoholics. Such ones of any age in life are definitely effected from growing up in an alcoholic family. Its a real and well accepted recognised ailment that needs to be addressed. I have attended such groups many times and they offer help and support from those also affected who truly understand the problems you face.
