They Never Stay...

To me friendship is a commitment between two people. Friendship are suppose to last through thick and thin. Ive always been a very loyal and dedicated person. Most of my friends I have known since kindergarten. But all the people I've gotten to know over the last 10yrs never seem to stick around long. Just when you feel comfortable...they split. I don't know why. Is it because the friendship was never real to begin with? Do I attract people who don't like to form lasting connections? Are these people just not the type to care? Wish I knew. I'm getting tired of friends coming and going that I think I will no longer try to bond with anyone else in the future. Best to avoid it all together than having to deal with the loss later.

I was never a person who had many friends at one time because I preferred to have friends who were close. That made it extra hard when I lost all my friends. I moved out of the city that I was living in because of a job opportunity. It was not too far from where I had lived, but it wasn't conducive to people just dropping in on me. They visited for a couple months, but after that, the excuses started coming. Then they did not have time for me when I would offer to go out there to visit them. I still have not made any true friends since I have moved. That was about 14 years ago.
