Troubles

I can't sleep with the lights or tv on.  Because my roommate is still up by the time I'm ready for bed, I usually only request to turn one or the other off, and sometimes both.  She always says it's okay to do so, but she won't turn them off unless I ask her.  I hate to keep asking her and I've told her I can't sleep when we first started rooming together, but I hate to be a brat and ask.  It doesn't hurt she doesn't go to bed until between 5-8am and is on the computer all night.  And usually by that time, the sun is up and bothering us both.  Any advice?

Don't really have any advice but my husband is the same exact way. I have to tell him to turn off the lights or else he won't do it. We've been together for five years and he knows how I am but if he doesn't do it, I'll have to and that is a pain in the neck. What I do know about this situation is that I don't want you to get into it with your roommate because she doesn't understand you.
