Let Bygones Be Bygones

Recently many of my coworkers left our hotel for the brand new hotel across the street. They left because our manager was hired at the new hotel, and they like him, but not the manager we got (who was our assistant manager). This would be fine, if their departure were cordial. Instead, they made their final week with us horrible on everyone who is staying. Their off hand comments made within earshot; their little "private" meetings; their abuse of break time; their "tiffs" with existing staff. All of this made for one awful week!
Now that they are gone, it continues. They use facebook now to talk about how happy they are at the new place, and how they cannot wait until their entire working family joins them. They do this to "get the goat" of those staying.
Why could they not just leave and have the character to simply say farewell? Why do they have to be so mean spirited?
The upside to all of this is that they are gone, and the workplace can carry on in peace with new employees!

I think they were overcompensating for their actual fear of leaving. If they were confident in their decision they wouldn't need to throw it in your face. I hope things get better and better at your workplace.:):)

Thanks! I think you are right. Things have improved greatly for me.
