I Can't Stand Whining

The "Y Me" Support Group

I have had breast cancer twice, the first time when I was 37, and it was pretty advanced. One of the support groups I was invited to was called Why me?

That  just irked me no end. I sent them a note and said, "well, why NOT you?" Nobody replied. Seriously, are we supposed to get points for good behavior that protect us from ever getting sick??The very question implies that the person thinks they are too good to get the disease (and inherently, that the ones who do get the disease are somehow inferior).

    I have had breast cancer and never went to any support groups. I have a wonderful partner who gives me his support. When I wake up everyday I tell myself there for the grace of God go I. It tbreaks my heart when I hear of young children with cancer. TI know what I am going to say is easy but don't let it beat you enjoy your life to the full. I used to wear a bikini or low top dress but now I don't as my scar will be on show. Why do I need to let people know my business.

    I too have had brest cancer twice,,,but I have never gone to a support group,,,I am total comfortable with my body image,,,thanks for shareing Mary
