Like AngelJ I love being in the water but only walk (or float) in the pool as my co-ordination isn't too good. However I do enjoy peeing through my swimsuit while in there so it goes secretly into the water.

Get lessons! :D I can swim a bit, but am thinking of trying to totally revamp my technique, because I suck at it. I'm thinking of learning the Total Immersion method, which aims to try and make swimming about moving in a more fishlike manner, but I haven't sampled it yet, so I can't tell you if it's any good :) Anyway, swimming is not too hard to pick up with a few lessons! It'll give you a great sense of water freedom and confidence, and using the swimming aids makes things so much easier.

Go for it. I don't remember ever learning how to swim I was so young. I can't swim very quickly, or with any form, but just splashing around in the pool, and figuring out how to not drown maybe all you need.
