Remembering My Friends
I wasn't the one to light the match, that started the fire to burn.
Nor was I the one who bought the gun, and spent the bullet, before it was my turn.
I wasn't the one to crash the bike, whilst flying 300ft. through the air.
Yet you look at me for all the answers...wasn't I the one suppose to care?
What were the words you spoke upon the bridge, before you crashed into the trees?
How can I bare the silence of the lake, as it took you away from me?
I shall never see that wonderous smile, as he brutly took your life that day.
As I shall never see the sparkle in your eyes, after you crashed your bike into that truck that way!
The gasp of your last breath, how can I live with that sound?
Now that you have gone and left me, I stand alone upon this old ground.
I can still feel your hand against my tear stained cheek.
For each tear I shed does not prove that I am weak!
How much heartache shall one heart stand, to grieve and cry all alone?
No one can hear the sound of a broken heart, unless it is your own!
