To All the People Who Can't Wait to Go to College

Looking at college from high school, it looks so cool. You're free: no parents, no rules, only a few classes normally dispersed hours apart, a full day is like maybe 5 hours depending on your schedule. Life looks good. Trust me, when you get to college, it's way more awesome than it looked from high school. I went to a Catholic high school, which I totally and completely hated. Trust me, I loved the friends I made (poor hick town kids + college prep school + rich kids = awesome fights) and I loved the teachers who cared enough to reach out to me, but the administration was BULL. I couldn't wait to start college. And trust me, starting college was awesome. I wrote for the newspaper. I worked with Program council and student council and Residence Hall Association and Jazz Dance club and Terra and on and on and on. Join every club. Go to every party (you don't have to drink, but try it at least once - you haven't lived until you've drank underage!) Make every friend you can. Talk to everyone. GET FACEBOOK and friend everyone on campus. Check your e-mail everyday. E-mail your teachers just to tell them random stories. College is amazing and trust me, it's just as liberating as it looks now.
