I Care About The Environment
Hi! I guess you are reading this because you want to save the environment. Me too! I’m worried about the environment because everyone’s future depends on it.
I find it extremely important that we start raising awareness about this factor because if we don’t, very bad things can happen to the earth. Many species of animals can disappear, maybe even humans. For example, the Arctic and Antarctic could end up melting which means seals, penguins, polar bears etc could die out. But that’s not all. The rise in water levels can cause floods which could wipe out land animals and kill loads of plants. And this is just the very basic.
What about the food chains? For example, if all the grass in the world disappeared, cows, sheep, almost all insects, rabbits and many more animals could disappear. This would cut our food supply so humans would be dying too. Not only would it cut our food supply, it would cut the oxygen supply! There would be a high oxygen demand which means many animals would end up suffocating. OK, now I’m just panicking! But what if,eh?
But I think we all need to put an effort into saving the environment. Just basic things like turning off lights when they’re not in use, switch of the tv or games console if its on standard. This can save money as well as the environment so this very little effort to do these things can be rewarding. To make it even more rewarding, why not put all the money you save in a bank account or money box? Then you can see how much you’ve saved at the end of the year and treat yourself to something nice like a day out!
Here are some ideas of what you can do to save the environment;
Turn off lights when they are not in use
Switch off things on standby
Throw cardboard boxes and plastic bottles in the recycling
Turn off the water when brushing your teeth
Turn the shower off when putting in shampoo/conditioner/ washing your body
Have showers instead of baths
Have a power down hour once a week/month
Go outside when it’s nice instead of playing on games or watching TV
If you have a bath, have one more shallow then usual
Light candles instead of having lights on. It saves the environment and it’s relaxing!
Use things that are battery-powered
Go out and shop instead of shopping online ( then you can get fresh air and you wont need to pat delivery costs)
If you watch the same weekly shows as your friends, watch them together
