Lakehurst, Nj--the Town That Time Forgot

I grew up in Lakehurst, NJ...quite possible one of the smallest of small towns, only approximately 3,000 people. Lakehurst was (supposedly) a bustling town back at the turn of the century. A series of disasters (fires at the railroad station and large resort hotel), most notably one involving the Hindenburg zeppelin. Apparently "lighter than air" also meant "extremely combustable" for that dirigible.
Because of all these things, Lakehurst sometimes seems like a ghost town. Populated by locals who are all somehow related to each other, the town in quaint in a really creepy way.

I am sorry to hear that. Maybe a new industry could change things around. I hope so - Many Blessings, livingwell
