Gad, when San Francisco missed the last play I got upset. What's a matter little brother? ask Pamela. You worried you are about to have to admit that I can pick the teams better then you? I'm not admitting nutttin', they just didn't
finish the play. I said. Sis just smiled at me and said she will be looking forward to spring break so I had better be nice to her. I had to know how she knew who would win the game so I ask her. Oh that part was easy, Baltimore had the prettiest colored uniforms - what are they deep purple or plum? You chose the team based on the color of the uniform. I exclaimed.
Sure, she replied., San Francisco colors really clashed with each other. Everyone knows fashion and image are a good part of how you perform. Gad, I thought she would probably really change the game if she had any say over their uniforms. I mean like would she put the Oakland Raiders in pink and white. sheeesh!
Spring break was still about six weeks away according to our schedule from school. IT would begin on April 22 and last until the day after Easter, school starting again on April 25th. I hope sis forgets about the bet. Mom came out of the basement with the laundry. Sis had gone to her room. Where's Pamela? Mom ask. She is in her room. I replied., Why? Oh I was hoping to catch her before she went there. mom said. Do me a favor and take this laundry basket to her room so she can put her things away. Mom requested of me. I really didn't want to to go to that den of femininity but had no choice. Mom worked hard and worked to keep our family together after Dad had left with some unknown woman. At least mom got the house after the divorce. Sis and I got assigned different chores, luckily all mine were mostly outside like the lawn mowing and taking out the trash cans on Monday mornings.
I took the basket from mom and headed on to my sister's room. She was laying on the bed and saw me immediately asking why I was coming in her room. Duh! your laundry is done, I said., mom ask that I bring it to you.
Okay, she replied., just set it over by my vanity for now. I sat it down and on the wall was her calendar. Gad she had circled the week of spring break writing across it blocks of days "Revenge Week - It Will Be So sweet!!"
