Just Once I Would Like To Start A Trip Without A Meltdown

Well here I am at the computer. My bags are in the car. They were packed and loaded last night. We have had THREE WEEKS to get ready for this trip. We agreed that flying was cheaper than driving. I have been ready for days.

Once again, HIS bags are not even packed. He thinks he's "organized" because he has two giant bins of misc stuff to be sorted into a checked bag, 2 carry-ons and an e-vest. He wanted to be PRAISED for this! I packed his clothing, basically throwing some of the stuff he likes in a bag because he kept telling me "No I'll do that, no, I'll do that, no, I'll do that," and no, he DIDN'T do that. He hasn't even done anything about his toiletries, which he will probably buy when we get there because he will forget them or not have time.

The plane leaves in 3 hours. It will take an hour to get to the airport. He will probably "be ready" in two hours. Which means, once again, a mad dash to the airport, and try and get through security before the plane leaves. We've missed planes before because of this. Yesterday I told him "If we could just once get into the car with bags already in it and arrive at the airport two hours ahead, I would be the happiest woman in the world."

But no. Once again, we have High Drama. Once again, it is ALL MY FAULT for being a nagging *****. And once again, we will probably miss a plane.

I love him, I really do, but in the name of all that is holy HOW HARD IS IT TO GET YOUR CRUD TOGETHER TO GET ON A FREAKING PLANE ON TIME????? WHY does this happen EVERY SINGLE TIME for the 15 years we've been married??????

I tell my partner we need to be at a place 30min earlier than we need to, to account for this situation. In your case re planes Id be saying 1-2hrs earlier

Leave him next time lol
