I Dare You!

Being a Marine mom, girlfriend, fiance, or wife is the hardest job in the corps. We are the ones who get left behind to figure out how to live our lives without them. We have to learn how to be stronger than we have ever had to be. We have to mask the loneliness and sadness in our voice when they call so that the focus on their work rather than the fact that we might not have had a good day. It takes a courageous woman to send someone she loves to a war zone knowing they might not come back and praying that they do. I think that it gives us a more realistic out look on life though. We cherish our time together and we realize that everyday is a gift.

"We have to mask the loneliness and sadness in our voice when they call so that the focus on their work rather than the fact that we might not have had a good day." Very true and very hard.... but we, as the marine mom, girlfriend, wife or fiance must do this, and because we do we can be proud to say we are just as strong as our marine.
