First Flight, First Jump

I carried out my first parachute jump when I was 24.
A group of us decided to do a jump and raise some money for Charity.
Well it was also the first time I ever flew.
I had two thrills I'm one go.
I was thrilled just by being in the air flying.
There were four of us in the plane, a small cessna.
The pilot, jump master and me and a friend.
When it was my turn to jump I sat in the door of the plane and was told "go"
I just leant out and into the air.
The first 3-4 seconds before the chute opended was amazing.
I was flying, I looked up and the plane was 100 yards away
with that the chute opened and I floated gently to earth.
Then you get about 300 feet above the ground and realise how quickly you are falling.
Hence the term "ground rush".
I hit the ground quite hard.
The first thing I wanted to do was get back in the plane and do it all over again.
For a while I was able to tell people I had taken off in a plane but never landed in one.
