I Did Something Nice

I was just heading home after walking to the library, it was a very windy day and i saw across the street some trash cans had fallen over. after crossing the busy street i picked them up, i had head phones in so i didnt hear her at first but an older woman probably in her 60s was carefuly coming down the stairs of her house, stepping with both feet on each step. She thanked me, but i dont see the need for thanks that was just something anyone would do :)

    I disagree in that "it was just something anyone would do". The fact that you saw them on their sides means that, unless they had just been blown over, that other people saw them yet chose not to put them upright. The woman who thanked you could have done so because your action meant that she didn't have to, and from what you said about her condition, it would have been more difficult for her than for most other people. And the fact that you crossed a busy street to do the deed makes your action even more noteworthy. Kudos.
