I Didnt Have a Great Mother
She was far from great. She was an alcoholic who drank for most of my life. She doesn't even remember most of my childhood. She missed my high school graduation, she wasn't there when I graduated from college.
I remember trying to take care of her when I was younger because she had drank too much. I remember my brother and I getting her out of the street because she was so drunk one day she was literally in the road trying to flag down cars for no reason dressed only in her nightgown. I think I was 15 and my brother was 12 at the time. I remember getting hit for no reason a lot and then she didn't remember doing it.
Dad worked a lot trying to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. My gram used to help out but she died when I was 12 after that things just went down hill from there.
I love my mom. She didn't do so good with raising us, but she's trying to make things right.
