Just Like Any Other Friend

I adore my husband, trust him and respect him but he married me because I wasn't a mindless drone.  He loved my opinions before we were married and I do remind him of that occasionally.  Why would anyone want mindless obedience?  Can you respect someone who only follows due to a vow?
