The World Is Grey - Nihilism Is the Only Truth...

The world doesn't have a purpose - at least, I don't believe it does. Not any 'This is what the world is for' written on a bill-board or stone tablet at any rate.

Those who proclaim they know things which cannot be known are liars, and those who believe them are fools. I am both a liar and a fool; and this is my point. We are all followers and we are all dreamers and proclaimers.

Argument is bound to ensue when people look at this phrase 'Things that cannot be known' and of course it all comes down to opinion. Your opinion can be both important and irrelevant at the same time. The world is a living organism, populated by other living organisms - and the tide of change is constant and unchanging.

Nothing you can say or do is permanent, because death will take it away. Ideas change, concepts change, stories change over time. Life in itself is a series of Chinese Whispers.

This story doesn't really focus so much on my Dislike of close-minded people, but rather presents my own arguments towards why open-mindedness is a far more intelligent and appropriate way to approach the world - this complicated and ulgy world.

An excellent quote that is in many ways mind-blowing is one made by one of the world's great philosophers (who will eventually fade into nothing but a dim memory) is this:

"Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense." - Buddha

The world is a giant grape if you want it to be. The stars are a great shining tarp that gets wrapped around us...whatever you can think of it doesn't matter if it is real or not. People will call you insane for your beliefs, but that doesn't matter - people die, and people change.

My own opinion of our life is that we make our own destiny and our own purposes - it is up to us to steer positive change into the lives of ourselves and others. Its not about sorting the world into black and white, since that is impossible. There is more to it than a simple one-sided classification. Not all things have a purpose, or even the will to make themselves a purpose - but that doesn't mean that they can't be involved in yours.

Feel free to disagree with what I have to say - that is what makes our world beautiful; that each of us feels different when we view the same painting, and each of us gets a different jolt from the same piece of music.

I pity the close-minded people who cannot embrace or comprehend the world being as complex as it is.

Well sure - everyone has something in life that they enjoy doing, and in some cases really are good at. My own destiny was created by finding what I enjoy doing and what I am good at - I call that my contribution to life and our race. I enjoy writing when the mood is right - and I have been told that I am good at it. Such compliments drive me to complete my works of fiction so others can enjoy the wonders they offer.
Destiny is a funny thing - because even if you aren't curing cancer you are still doing at least one small thing - which is better than nothing, as the dead would accomplish.
Your destiny might be something like raising a child, or making someone feel good about themselves - some people choose not to find any solid or helpful path, but I think that if you are looking for a destiny or a purpose in life then all you need to do is look inside at what YOU want to contribute to life. What do you want to give to those around you or to yourself?
I think everyone has a destiny - since it merely means what you will be doing. But a person destiny - one that is chosen and crafted; not everyone has unfortunately.
I don't think it matters in the grand scheme of things, since the weak are only there to justify the strong - but I respect a person more who has a personal destiny more over one who doesn't even care to think of the future.

Heh, now you're blowing my mind.

Hey man, don't be so closed minded about closed minded people.
