Why Always "I"

It's just so boring, and it's probably just me, but it strikes me as egocentric. As much as I dislike beginning sentences with 'I', it just can't be helped; it's just SO easy.

Perhaps the reason I dislike starting off every sentence with 'I' is that it reminds of me of the many people I know or run into who constantly talk about nothing but themselves and aren't interested in anything that doesn't involve them.

You know, now that I think about it, it's probably a combination of those two things. How about you?

I think you might be right. Damn.

"boring"???? How could I, the most dynamic, knowledgeable, cultured and handsome guy on the block not be interesting?

You're right, it's boring to start with "I". Volunteering information about myself does not come easy for me so just sharing anything personal on this site was a challenge for me at first. Starting a story with "I" always felt quite lame and egotistic. Of course that hasn't stopped me from doing it sometimes.
