Racism With In Your Own Race

The one thing that I don't get is people of the same race who judge or dislike each other because of skin tone! Either which way you are still apart of the same race despite your skin tone.

This is common within the African-American race. I was teased for years for having darker skin and I was depressed about it for a long time. I had to really look at myself and realize that I'm beautiful despite what they think. Even within my culture I hear a lot of comments about the preference for lighter skinned women and it makes me sick. I think its the stupidest ever, especially since we are the race that tends to fuss the most about racism against us. Sad thing is, it will never stop.

Exactly it will never stop until black people all together decide to stop being ignorant. I never got teased for being brown skinned though. When I would hear guys I know talking down on dark skin women I would say you messed with me so what does that mean and then they would say your not that dark your brown skin with light under tones or copper under tones or you have west Indian in you so your not all black. Or the ever classic your pretty for a brown skin girl bull crap. Just pure nonsense these men like dark skin women and think we are pretty they just choose to follow the crowd...
