I've tried wearing a watch years ago and it bothered me to no end.  People ask me how I get along in the world without a watch.  I say just fine.  Rare is the instance that I need to know what the time is and don't have any way to know.  There's plenty of people out there who do wear watches and all you have to do is ask one of them.

yeah and with cell phones so common today it's hard to get away from what time it is. I carry a cell phone but even when I didn't there was almost always someone else around with the time.

I have the same thing with jewellry, it irratates me no end, cant stand wearing necklaces, bracelets or earrings, just wear my tummy piecing. Now the watch wearing can become a little obsessive, i couldnt be without mine, but sometimes like when on holiday its nice to be free of it, as time doesnt matter when you dont have to be anywhere.

not to mention cellphones, computers, TV guides on cable & satellite (most electronic devices) etc. all show the time.
