Donated Blood For The First Time A Few Weeks Ago

It was a little scary. Especially since when they tested the iron in my blood, I got the lowest score possible to give blood. I think they said my number was a twelve. It took forever too. I signed in at five pm, and didn't actually give until six-fifteen pm. It was on my college campus though. As for actually going through the motions, everything went rather fine. It took me maybe ten minutes to get all the blood they needed. When they finished filling the bag, and hooked me up to the small tester tubes, my boyfriend compared it to that of filling a balloon up with a helium machine. Each one only took maybe ten seconds to fill. Apparently I'm full of blood. lol.

Afterwards was hell though. I didn't get dizzy or shaky. I got sleepy as hell and weak. My boyfriend got me back into my dorm room, and I pretty much passed out the moment my head hit the pillow. I felt weird all the next day too. I couldn't seem to eat anything without having to force myself. I was thirsty as hell. The night that I got the blood taken, I downed an entire gallon of water throughout that night. I kept waking up and needing to drink.

However, I'm glad I did it, and plan to do it again.

Well you can bust up your iron count by eating certain foods.

Funny story about that actually. The lady who was doing the whole procedure, after she was done, I told her, "Alright, I hope it feeds your vampires well." She turned to me, and with a very serious face said, "You know I was pretty hungry for dinner. I think I'm going to go take my break right now." And left with my blood. I laughed my *** off.

Lol@full of blood. You are a vampire's Starbucks lol. Well done.
