I Don't Believe Blood Is Thicker Than Water

In the literal sense, yes blood is, of course, thicker than water. But in terms of the saying, "Blood is thicker than water," meaning to say that family is more important than any non blood relation a person has, I don't feel that way at all. The only person in my family I am close with is my mother. I don't even like most of the other members of my family. I certainly don't value them higher than I do other people that I know. I don't have any friends in real life, but I do have some online. I hold those friends I have online to a much higher esteem & value them much more than I do most of my family. So, to me, in that regard, blood is definitely not thicker than water.

Plus, what about all of those who have great families with adopted parents or adopted children? That saying disregards them, in my opinion, by saying that because they don't share blood, they are of less importance, & that is completely untrue.
