Is a Belief In God a Form of Insanity?

If you said that you believed in a magical rabbit or thought you were talking to Napolean you'd be considered eccentric at the least and more probably as mentally imbalanced. But apparently praying to a guy up in the sky is ok. This is the same guy who created the entire earth and everything on it. He then made a man and then a woman using a spare bit of the man, go figure. Then he got a snake to talk to the woman who ate an apple. for that they were cast down into this valley of tears. Anyway a while later he got bored with this first lot and sent a flood and killed everyone, except this guy who had a big boat and he put all the animals on the boat and..............

I mean is this sounding crazy or what.

Hehe, that's a wonderful anecdote Stevester, I got on the wrong bus one time, thankfully it just took me a little out of my way.
As for the original story, I have to agree with you, it still amazes me how many people not only base their lives around the stories in the bible, but who actually believe it!

I think it's a balance between insanity and stupidity.

They might be real it's all about perception really. A previous Lord Mayor of Belfast was on a trip to Canada. At the same time a bus trip from a local sanitarium was visiting. He got onto the wrong bus. When he tried to get off a superintendent stopped. He said, "it's ok I'm the Lord Mayor of Belfast" to which the superintendent said, "yeah right and I'm Napoleon". It's all about perception. He eventually got out.

Wait . . . did you just imply that magic rabbits are not real?
Crap, I need to get my information from more reliable sources.

I am married to a man who believes in God and I am always asking him why? He chooses it, and I cannot comprehend it. He went so far as to say on his church blog that he was married to an unbeliever. I asked him to never talk about me again to his church friends, it really upset me, I wasn't a wife or a friend, I was an unbeliever...
whassup with that???

In short, no, belief in god is not insanity, it's just falling for a really stale, over-used (but tried and true) con.

ITS A VERY EFFECTIVE CONTROL SYSTEM THAT HAS WORKED BEAUTIFULLY FOR MILLENIA THE CREATORS ARE ALL KNOW AND ACCREDITED IN HISTORY SEE CORPERNICUS PISO FOR AN EXAMPLE

I use to believe and over the years I have been changing my mind, asking questions, watching so called Christians. Look up ZEITGEIST ON THE WEB, watch it. Make you wonder bout a lot of things.

Yeah, it really is.

Basically we've had it
