Exercises In Futility - Revenge

I was never good at exacting revenge ... I've tried repeatedly only to become more frustrated and disappointed after my failure ...

I've come to realize that even if I were capable of exacting revenge it would be quite rare to convey to the other party the damage they caused on such a level that would cause them to change their mind (s) ... This simply does not happen ... not even for those who are good at revenge.

Revenge generally only serves to upset the other party further and proves to them the very things they thought of you to begin with if not worse things ... It also may serve to upset them to the point that they will now begin to plan evil little revenges of their own for you.

It's a waste of energy, a waste of time ... revenge is futile. Live and let live - forgive and forget ...

Spite and revenge only poison our souls...whatever energy we release into the cosmos comes back at us at least three times, so try to keep your energy positive. Yes, forgive, but also remember sometimes the best revenge is to just walk away.... live your life and live it well.

So right, Mystic!
And I couldn't have said it any better, Cel. As always you're right on the money and straight to the point! hehe :>

Your right, it is strength, but if you think about it, we are raised, or many are raised to fight back, don't be a sissy, be strong, etc. So when those people see you doing what they feel deep inside is right but follow the prodding influence they are raised with they throw it out there like they had it done to them, hoping one day they realize what you are saying really is true, and the only way to know it is to experience it, we have... *grins*

Am happy not to be the only one thinking in this manner ...
Someone once said my line of thinking in regard to this topic is 'weak' (insinuating that *I* was weak for being forgiving) ... Actually I find it to be much the opposite. I revere those who are able to 'take' what is thrown their way and continue to maintain their composure and after very little thought they are able to forgive and move forward rather than allowing the experience to rob them of time and happiness - to me *THAT* is STRENGTH!!!
