Nice But Not Necessary

I do believe in committment and marriage but don't believe that marriage is necessary. According to enrichment journal on the divorce rate in America:

The divorce rate in America for first marriage is 41%

The divorce rate in America for second marriage is 60%

The divorce rate in America for third marriage is 73%

Committment shouldn't be based on a piece of paper that can be nullified and reversed. True committment can and should exist without marriage. Partnership if true doesn't require documentation, it will be self evident if it truly exists.

Like I said, committment is more than a piece of paper...

Wow! Those aren't very appealing statistics. I've been married once and am now in a relationship with someone who believes we should get married. I love him very much but feel I've done a better job at working on this relationship than the one when I was actually married. I think it makes people try harder because there's no big drawn out process to ending it all - it can be very cut and dry.

Thanks Doc
