I Don't Belong

I am so different from everybody in so many different ways. I think and act so different. And so many things about this country disgust me. The fact that girls are getting pregnant at 15. People get married so young and then divorce. The sanctity of marriage is lost to this country. People are so lazy and eating so much fast food and drinking so much pop. The fact that sports mean much more than they should. Athletes get paid a ridiculous amount. I just want to run away to a more pure country. I really want a simpler life very much different than the one I'm living now. I find that I am so different than anybody I know. I am not sure where I would really belong but if I would ever have the money to do so, I would hope to travel the world to find my real home.

There is nothing wrong with how you feel. Do whatever you want. See what you need to see. And if you're wrong, you're wrong. At least you saw something new. At least you tried to do something. And if youre right, you may live a easier, happier life. I say do whatever you need to to get out of here as soon as you can, if you haven't already. The older you get, the harder it is. So many people here have responsibilities, obligations, debt, fear and so many other things holding them back. If you don't have these things, go now. You can always come back if you need to, most likely, with a lot more knowledge under your belt. I hope you find what you are looking for. There is not always an answer right away. You just have to keep doing until it comes to you. I wish you luck on your journey.

Oh god, I felt so happy when I read this, and sad too. Im happy cuz I know Im not alone, and sad cuz its the truth :( . I want to lve in a purer place too. When I grow up, no matter what, Im going to move to Singapore, cuz I feel I belong there. And if that doesnt work it, maybe Switzerland or Ireland. I might see u on the way, so don't feel alone ;) .<br />

Friend,<br />
I feel your pain, but be careful about jumping from the frying pan into the fire. I think it important to first know what is causing these things, so you know what to avoid elsewhere (many places are worse). Anyway, my take on your concerns:<br />
<br />
"The fact that girls are getting pregnant at 15."<br />
Hollywood, Media, Commerce controlling young people's minds, not parents. Also government, school being be all/end all for any kid's need (again, who needs parents).<br />
<br />
"People get married so young and then divorce. The sanctity of marriage is lost to this country." <br />
Churches have become businesses, controlled by government. Corporations control Media to gang up on kids and feed them brainwashing, social engineering perversions to maximize profit. Reasons and meaning of marriage has thus become perverted.<br />
<br />
"People are so lazy and eating so much fast food and drinking so much pop."<br />
Corporations cooperating with media to push.<br />
<br />
"The fact that sports mean much more than they should. Athletes get paid a ridiculous amount. I just want to run away to a more pure country."<br />
Corporations and media feeding sports industry. Government has perverted Church, so people turn elsewhere for “religion” (things that make them feel good, fulfill their hopes, spirit, emotions). Don't forget NASCAR!<br />
<br />
"I really want a simpler life very much different than the one I'm living now."<br />
<br />
Possible options:<br />
Live where there is no TV.<br />
Become Amish.<br />
Join a commune.<br />
Move to Utah.

I agree with you. In certain way, I feel the same. <br />
<br />
I don't like the way americans make fun of every culture and country. Sometimes I think that they feel that they are the only ones in the world. Also I don't like to be surrounded with sex contents everywhere.<br />
<br />
But... on the other hand, this is the country where I live. I am not american but I'm trying to love this country for its positive things: their patriotic spirit, "the american dream", their history, the beautiful landscapes, and the diversity of cultures.<br />
<br />
I recommend you to travel.... travel a loooot!! <br />

...OR you could be the person to make a positive change in your country. You could become an honest politician. That would be a first.
