A Funny Thing Occurred To Me . . .

Gosh.  You know, I don't even know who these people are any more.  That's how out of the loop I am.  I have enough to worry about in my own life right now than to concern myself about who's currently in Doctor Drew's rehab clinic, who who thinks they can dance, or what T.V. personalities are doing off camera.  Their insights are never that exceptional, when I do happen to catch one, which I haven't for several months now.  Oscar and Acadamy awards put me to sleep.  Superbowl half-time shows don't impress me, but neither does the NFL.  I'm out of tune with current rock and pop stars.  There are few faces or voices I recognize any more.

This is just the way it is.  I'm not being snide, nor remorseful, about any of this.  Can't see the benefit of knowing about who's popular any more.  I do my own little thing, day-in and day-out.  When I sit and think about it, that's pretty funny.

I find all the twenty-something actresses interchangeable.

You don't have to be good at anything to be a celebrity, except for preening in public and pretending to be someone you're not.

It's all about what's on the surface, isn't it? Whether their wearing the right clothes or going to the right hairdressers? What's underneath is pretty average, unless you happen to be Bill Cosby or Robin Williams. Even John Lennon was pretty hokey when you removed him from his music. Too bad celebrity worship panders to the lowest common denominator.

You are not impressed with the NFL? What kind of man are you? JK. Who's Doctor Drew?<br />

I agree with you, and I'm in college. I'm an oddball at my age not caring about the latest celebrity. Probably because I've heard some of them speak about non-entertainment issues and they usually sound below average.
